VIOLIN 2015 : Third Prize
Currently a student at Colburn Conservatory in Los Angeles under Robert Lipsett, William Hagen has also studied under Itzhak Perlman at the Juilliard School in New York. In 2014, he won Second Prize at the International Fritz Kreisler Competition in Vienna. He has played under conductors such as Placido Domingo, Miguel Harth-Bedoya, and Johannes Wildner, with orchestras such as the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, the Utah Symphony, the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, the St Louis Symphony, and the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra. He has played chamber music with, among others, the pianists Menham Pressler, Robert Spano, Orli Shaham, and Steven Osborne and the violinists Alex Kerr and David Halen. He has performed at the Aspen Festival and in the Colburn Chamber Music Society Series. This summer, William Hagen will take part in the Academy at the Verbier Festival.
