05/03/2020 At each instrumental session, the Queen Elisabeth Competition calls on two composers for the creation of the unpublished compulsory works. For this year's piano session Pierre Jodlowski has written the semi-final work for piano solo and Bruno Mantovani has composed a work for piano and orchestra for the final.
The candidates receive the semi-final work upon the acceptance of their application. As for the finalists, they only receive the score one week before the date of their performance at the Brussels Centre for Fine Arts. During that week, the twelve finalists are secluded in the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, to prepare for the final.

Nocturne will be performed by the 24 semi-finalists of the 2020 piano competition during their recital.
Final : Bruno MantovaniCentre for Fine Arts : 25>30 May - world première on Monday May 25th at 20:00
His work will be performed by each of the 12 finalists of the piano competition, together with Brussels Philharmonic under the baton of Stéphane Denève.
The performances of will be broadcast on Belgian radio, television (RTBF & VRT) and will be streamed live on our website. Both works will be released on CD.
