Alex DeSocio studeerde af aan de Northwestern University en de University of Maryland. Zijn recente uitvoeringen omvatten Dancairo in Carmen in de Fort Worth Opera, Schaunard in La Bohème in de Charleston Opera, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte in de LoftOpera, Dandini in La Cenerentola in de Opera Fort Collins en Ramiro in L’heure espagnole in de Memphis Opera. In 2013 trad hij toe tot het Merola Opera Program, waar hij de rol van Tarquinius vertolkte in The Rape of Lucretia. Eerder was hij artist in residence bij de Pittsburgh Opera, waar hij zong in De Toverfluit, La Bohème, Otello en Carmen. Alex DeSocio is laureaat van de Sullivan Foundation, de Palm Springs Opera Guild Competition, de Opera Birmingham Vocal Competition, de Shreveport Opera Competition en de Merola Opera Program Shoshana Grant Award.
